simply put....less carbon footprint. Mining requires the use of fossil fuel burning machines from start to finish. Keep in mind that mining sites must be found and scouted as well add that to the fact that once a mineral has been mined or harvested it is then shipped to industrial centers then to production facilities then to factories where it is formed then to factories.....you get the picture.although recycling isnt 100 percent clean yet its still a far cry away from basically bleeding our only earth dry and then using by products of that bleeding in order to secure the use of what we just bled.
Reuse is a form of recycling.
yes
recycling has a big economic impact on the world. It requires a lot less employees than mining from ore as mainly only machinery is used and the only employees needed are machinery supervisers. In mining, employees for mining, refining, transporting etc are all needed.
Because closed-loop recycling produces more recyclable materials.
First, you don't have to mine, which alters the landscape and the habitat of animals. Then, from an economical stand point, it is cheaper to recycle a metal than to mine it, process it and so on.
Recycling reduces the demand for new raw materials, which can help decrease the need for mining. By recycling metals and other materials, we can reduce the environmental impact of mining activities such as land degradation, water pollution, and habitat destruction. Recycling also helps to conserve resources and reduce energy consumption associated with extracting and processing virgin materials.
It is recycling old stuff.
Stop using explosives, stop surface and subsurface mining, and start recycling
Access, convenience, and cost are reasons why composting is better than recycling. Composting may be a less labor-intensive and more cost-effective option than recycling of some materials. Composting works particularly well with carbon- or nitrogen-rich, small-sized organic materials whereas recycling generally handles inorganic and larger-sized items quite well.
It is recycling old stuff.
Most US cities have recycling programs. In many of them, the law requires certain materials to be placed in recycling containers rather than garbage disposal. Recycling is not 100% effective, but efforts are growing better.
Recycling aluminum saves energy and reduces the environmental damage done by mining bauxite. In addition to saving energy, recycling paper instead helps to save water.
