I don't think it is. White Island is far more of an active volcano than Mt Ruapehu.
the volcanoe that is most active is the kilauea
around pacific ocean
Yes. Mt Ruapehu is still active. In May 2008, for example, there were reports that Ruapehu was showing increasing signs of activity, including increased temperature, chemical changes and more gas. Prior to that, its most recent eruption had been in September 2007.
Mt Ruapehu, towards the southern part of the Taupo Volcanic Zone, is 2797m high. It is one of the most continuously active volcanoes in the world. It has a crater lake, surrounded by permanent snow.
Mt. Ruapehu is a composite cone type volcano dated at 250000 years old.
Mt Ruapehu is a stratovolcano, and is one of the world's most active volcanoes. It's caldera fills with water to form a crater lake. There are three peaks at the summit, the highest of which is 2797m a.s.l.
Ruapehu has been active most recently. Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand, is apparently the most dangerous volcano in the world.
I belive it last erupted in 1995. More Information: MT. Ruapehu is one of the world's most active volcanoes. The last major eruption was indeed in 1995/96. Since then there have been smaller eruptions and mud slides.
Mount Ruapehu in New Zealand has erupted around 60 times since 1861, with the most recent significant eruption occurring in 1995-1996. It is an active stratovolcano with a history of sporadic eruptions.
New Zealand's active volcanoes include Raoul Island (in the Kermadec Islands), the Auckland Volcanic Field, the large caldera volcanoes of Taupo and Okataina, and the active cones of Taranaki/Egmont, Ruapehu, Tongariro-Ngauruhoe and White Island.
The most dangerous New Zealand volcanoes would be listed by the damage done. The Taupo volcano would top the list, and in recent times, White Island, Mt Tarawera, and Ruapehu would be on the list. All essentially part of the Taupo Volcanic Zone.
There is no volcano that last erupted. There are active volcanos all over the world which are 'currently' erupting. The most active volcanoes are along fault lines and continental shelves. Probably the most active are located around the Pacific rim in locals like Hawaii and Indonesia.
