Yes. A heterogeneous mixture is one that lacks uniformity. When salt water (a homogeneous mixture) and sand are placed in the same container, the sand sinks to the bottom and the salt solution remains, largely, above the sand, demonstrating the characteristic lack of uniformity. salt dissolves in H2o

to be considered a mixture, something must mix. That means, either something, dissolves into the other contents, or they show each others properties. If you mix the two, salt will dissolve into the water, unless the solution is saturated.

No, saltwater is not considered a type of heterogeneous mixture. It is considered a type of homogeneous mixture since the salt dissolves into the water.

Is salt and water a mixture soulution or both?

Salt and water is a mixture. In a mixture you can mix them together then take them apart. When you put salt in water the salt does not dissolve therefore it is a mixture. If salt dissolved in water it would then be a solution, but salt does not dissolve in water so it is a mixture.Salt does dissolve in water to form a solution, which is a mixture. If a chemical that was insoluble in water was added to water, a mixture would also be formed. Slaf can be separated from water by evaporation and crystallisation, the undissolved chemical by filtration.
