This question. THIS question. It haunts me. Every night before I sleep, before I close my eyes. There is no escape, it taunts me. All day at work i rake at my brain trying to answer this old-as-time question. I feel my sanity deteriorating as i slowly try to detach each branch that contributes to the painful hole this question forms in my head. I silently scream as a small voice in my head batters me for answers 'Why is science considered to be a combination of information and process?' it calls at me. I don't know. I will never know. And that is something i will have to live with for the rest of my life.
Science involves both information (data, facts, evidence) and process (methods, experimentation, analysis) because it involves both gathering and interpreting information to understand the natural world. The information serves as the foundation for scientific theories and hypotheses, while the process of scientific inquiry involves testing these ideas through observation and experimentation to reach conclusions.
I'm not sure where that definition came from, and I don't really agree.
"Science" is a process, a method. We make observations of the world around us. We come up with a possible explanation of how things work and why. This explanation will suggest other tests or experiments that we can do to determine if this explanation is reasonable. With the results of our observations and our experiments, we devise a new explanation. We repeat this process continually.
One key point is that we NEVER reject an observation because it disagrees with our explanation, but we ALWAYS modify our explanation to include the results of our experiments and observation. Anybody who throws away his observation in favor of his theory is not a scientist.
Computer science is a field that focuses on the theory, design, development, and application of computer systems. Information science, on the other hand, is concerned with the collection, organization, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of information. While computer science provides the tools and techniques to process data efficiently, information science deals with how this data is organized, managed, and utilized to create knowledge. Both fields overlap in areas such as data management, information retrieval, and database design.
Information Science focuses on the collection, organization, and retrieval of information, while Communication Science focuses on the study of human communication processes, including verbal and nonverbal communication. Information Science deals more with data management and technology, whereas Communication Science covers a broader range of topics related to communication theory and practice.
Science is a process of understanding the natural world through observation, experimentation, and evidence-based reasoning. It is not about static facts, but about building a body of knowledge that is constantly evolving as new evidence emerges. Therefore, it is not accurate to assign a percentage to the amount of science that is considered fact.

No, information science and information technology are not the same. Information science focuses on the study of information and how it is organized, accessed, and managed, while information technology involves the use of computers and telecommunications to store, retrieve, and transmit information. Both fields are related and often overlap in areas such as data management and analysis.
Most of what is done in science is done through using experiments to prove the information and facts that exist. Scientific experiments involve gathering information about a topic or subject, then conducting research through the scientific process with experiments and coming to a conclusion based on both the information and experiments.
Reading can be considered both an art and a science. It is a science because it uses the eyes and brain to process information. It is an art because it involves reading comprehension, paying attention, and reading between the lines to find meaning.
Because people would confuse it with Computer Science.
An information-gathering process

the process of obtaining information using your senses
Inferring is an undesired process by which information is not derived from proof or sufficiently backed by documentation.
The definition of the word translation in science is " the process by which a protein is synthesized from the information contained in a molecule of messenger RNA. "

considered is not science. It is a word
Science, The process of learning more about the natural world is Science.
Information Science is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the study of the process associated with the storage and retrieval of information. It includes the gathering, manipulation, classification, dissemination, storage, and retrieval of information, as well as the study of how people, organizations, and information systems interact.Library Science is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the study of how recorded information is selected, acquired, stored, maintained, retrieved, and disseminated, specifically in relation to the operation and management of a library environment.---Information science and library science are related, but not identical; the first focuses more on the mathematical concept of information while the second focuses on how information relates to libraries.
