Silicon is a silvery grey material, with a conchoidal fracture. It is stable and I have a specimen on my shelf. It is used in the solid form in the refining of Aluminum.
As with any material, the colour of the surface is a matter of subtractive colour. A red surface or a green surface absorbs all colours except red, and green respectively. A silvery grey surface would be given by a material with a 'neutral density colour' and a highly reflective surface.
black/silver
Silica itself is a mineral compound and is typically colorless or white. However, impurities can give silica various colors such as pink, green, or black.
Silica is part of the rock forming group of minerals. Silica has a molecular weight of 28.09 gm and is iron black and reddish in color.
Silica is the newer agent used to make tire rubber, but Carbon Black is still used in the production of retread tires with very good results in improving mileage per tire. Carbon Black and silica are reinforcing agents mixed into the ingredients of tire base materials, such as natural and manufactured rubbers, to improve the characteristics of tires.
Generally, igneous rocks that are low in silica are dark relative to those that are high in silica. This tendency is largely the result of rocks low in silica having increased iron. Iron minerals tend to adsorb significant amounts of the visible spectrum and hence appear dark. I want to emphasize that this is a general tendency and there are exeptions -- obsidian which is very high in silica is typically a dark to black rock and a special igneous rock call carbonatite is very light in color but has little silica.
Any metrial or thing which containts silica in it is call silica content..
where can silica mineral can be found
Yes. Silica is everywhere.
The chemical compound silica is an oxide of silicon .In other words; silicon is in silica.
Calcite does not contain any silica. It is a carbonate mineral.
lava rich in silica
Sand usually contains abundant silica, but it generally is not pure silica.
