They have been the most efficient energy source available
Fossil fuels are cheaper than solar power.
Most countries burn fossil fuels to generate electricity. If they used solar power to generate electricity, thenThey would not have to use so much fossil fuel.Solar Energy itself does not reduce the use of fossil fuels. But the use of solar energy should hopefully reduce the need of fossil fuels to create energy, so therefore the more we can use solar power as an energy source instead of fossil fuels, the more we reduce the use of fossil fuels.
coal, oil, and gas for electricity and transportation. Solar power and panels replace all fossil fuels and are much better for the earth.
Solar panels produce electricity without greenhouse gas emissions and therefore we don't need to use fossil fuels as much?
Some power plants do. Any plant that burns oil, coal, or gas from underground resources could be considered a "fossil fuel" plant. There are however nuclear, solar, hydro-electric and wind powered power plants.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable because we don´t make them. We dig them up out of the ground. We don´t know how much fossil fuel we will be able to find in the ground, but we do know that it is not infinite. It takes thousands of years for fossil fuels to be made in the ground, and we are using them at a much faster rate, and we will therefore, someday, run out of it. Renewable energy sources include solar power, which will be available as long as our sun keeps burning. For our purposes, this is pretty much infinite.
well that depends compare to solar energy i think fossil fuels make the most energy out of any other kind of energy because they have coal, petroleum, oil and natural gas in wish solar energy depends on the sun and wind energy in the wind that is why fossil fuels produced more energy than any other.
They can be used for power plants, gas and oil and MUCH MORE
Air pollution is caused by burning too much fossil fuels.
Solar power generally isn't as efficient as burning fossil fuels - it doesn't turn out as much power as older methods. In addition, there is a large investment in power generation methods like burning coal, that people are reluctant to just discard.
Yes. It uses much less energy from fossil fuels which are coal, oil, and natural gas. Instead, it uses sunlight which is a renewable resource. Fossil fuels are not a renewable resource. When Earth runs out, there is no more.
2 gallons of fossil fuels are burnt a day
To avoid using fossil fuels. It's not that using fossil fuels is a problem, really. It's that we are so many people on the planet now that everything we do that is not having a zero-impact on the environment is destroying it. Therefore, we need to control the use of fossil fuels, and building wind turbines, solar power plants, tidal generators and the like, is "better" than simply cutting the power and banning cars. Which we would eventually have to. Not just because of the pollution, but also because there is a limited amount of fossil fuels. And if the infrastructure starts collapsing due to a lack of fossil fuels, there will be much whining and gnashing of teeth. So we strive to improve on our energy gathering technologies, in order to avoid a scenario where we run out of energy.
