Humans constantly want to improve and expand. In addition, there is a lot of space left unexplored and unexplained. Man wants to know everything.
Space exploration has allowed us to learn more about the Earth itself as well as it's affect on us. It has also allowed for many innovations ranging from using stars for navigation to the creation of artificial satellites.
As far as exploring other planets, we compare the atmospheres of other planets to Earth to see if there is life or if there could be life on them and to see how the solar system formed. We also explore to know if there are asteroids or other bodies that will collide with Earth.
