because it is! :D
Taiga: The mean annual temperature is about -5 °C to 5 °C, with some areas reaching down to -10 °C.Tundra: The mean annual temperature is about −28 °C to 12 °C, with some areas reaching down to −50 °CSo the tundra is much colder in Winter, but warmer in Summer.
the night is so much colder than the day
The largest climate region of Canada is the Arctic. It covers mainland Nunavut, Northwest Territories, the tip of Yukon, northern Quebec, and in around parts of Hudson Bay, in northern Ontario. Much of the land North of the mainland is also a barren wasteland, almost uninhabitable. Other than the Tundra, the Boreal and Taiga climate zones cover most of the interior of Canada, but combined, are still smaller than the area the Tundra covers.
I know of 6 biomes but there is much more trust me I know: dessert grassland tundra taiga tropical rain forest deciduous ( des-id-uass) forest
It is called the taiga,
there is some precipitation (12-33 inches) some melting snow. other than this, the average annual rainfall is very little. the taiga biome is right under the tundra biome, so its not a big surprise that the taiga biome is harsh...
The Taiga covers around 11% of the earth The Taiga covers around 11% of the earth
The arctic is the region of the world that has at least one 24 hour period per year that the sun does not rise and at least one 24 hour period per year where the sun does not go down. This is known as the arctic circle. As such, the arctic tundra is tundra located within the arctic region. Alpine is that area of the planet that is above the tree line. The tree line is determined by how cold a region gets. I believe that in order for trees to grow, the temperature must not dip below a certain temperature. Hence you will notice the tree line (or Alpine) level differs depending upon the variant temperatures in a particular region. In short, the colder the area, the lower the tree line. In the final analysis, the difference between the two types of tundra is a matter of location. Simplified, basically the alpine tundra is in the mountains and the arctic tundra is like the snowy icy place that we see on TV and think about mostly.
The tundra gets at least 4-10 inches of rain a year
Colder, much colder.
No. Lions are adapted to a warm climate and hunt the grazing animals of the African grasslands. The cold, harsh climate of the northern taiga is only suitable for animals that have evolved ways of coping with it.
How much colder is saturn compared to earth?
