The Shrine of the Dome of the Rock is itself unimportant to Israelis. However, the Shrine sits above the Temple of Mount, which is considered the holiest place in the world for Jews, who make up about 75% of the Israeli population.
As much as I know, it is the mosque that Isa ( alahissalam) will descend ( on the roof of) before Day of judgement!!!
Oh honey, let me tell you, the Dome of the Rock was a trendsetter before trendsetting was cool. Its architectural features, like the golden dome and intricate mosaics, inspired buildings all over the globe to step up their game. From Spain to India, architects were like, "I want some of that Dome of the Rock magic!" So yeah, it basically set the bar high for architectural excellence worldwide.
This is amazing archaeological building.People do not pray there or use this place for special things, this building is part of the Muslims mosque - El Aqza that very important to them .The reason this building is so popular because this is the symbol of the Palestinian nationality.

Answer 1The dome of the rock is a sacred place for the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims. Why should people believe that it should be torn down?Answer 2There are a minority of religious Jews and Christians who wish for the Dome of the Rock to be dismantled so that the Third Great Temple can be built on the same site. This would, in their view, lead to the coming of the Messiah and the End of Days. This event is considered desirable to them. At this point, though, there is no Jewish or Christian group actively conspiring to tear down the Dome of the Rock or politically advocating for such a thing.
You will see tons of granite in Yosemite National Park and while on Half Dome. The granite is actually has quite a good grip, as long as there is no gravel and the rock is not wet. Much of the rock on Half Dome has been eroded, so is actually fairly smooth while still being a bit rough because of the uneven weathering of the surface.
Jesus returning is part of Christian mythology. It won't happen so the question is moot.
It was built somewhere inbetween 689 and 691 CE So that would make it, 1322 - 1334 years old.
I am and Israeli by myself living in America. But typically Israelis live in Apartments or a House if they choose so.
The mosque itself resides on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. It's the distinctive golden dome that's featured prominently in virtually every photograph that includes the Old City of Jerusalem. As I write this, there's a beautiful photo of it displayed right here, at the top of this web-page on Answers.com .
Dome mountains are formed exactly the same way as VolcanoesThe inside of the earth can get so hot that rock slowly melt and become magma. Magma is much lighter then the hard solid rock that surrounds it, this causes it to rise and collect in chambers in the earth. though the magma cools before a volcano is formed. (hope this helps)
Because they just are. They were bullied once so they think its alright to take it out on the innocent.
