The equator is at 0 degees latitude, the South Pole is at 90 degrees S latitude and the North Pole is at 90 degrees N latitude. As you move away from the equator towards the higher latitudes, sun light must travel further through the earth's atmosphere to reach the surface of the earth which subsequently weakens it. The temperature becomes progressively colder, so by the time you reach the polar regions, the temperature rarely gets above freezing and, never gets above freezing at the South Pole.
Because it receives less heat from the sun, the angle of the sun hitting the surface will never be very big (the sun will never be high in the sky). This is down to how the earth spins and its rotation around the sun. The south pole never directly faces the sun.
There is no sun for six months at the South Pole, and nothing else to warm the region.
yes that is true
I don't think so. The ground is pretty muvh frozen all year! -Kyla
Apart from the earth, all magnets have a north and south pole.
All the time when it all ways in the --- temps.
The South Pole is at 90 degrees S. The North Pole is at 90 degrees N. All lines of longitude converge at both poles.
They live exlusively in Antarctica but not actually at the south pole
I think is almost all the country, except north pole and south pole. and some very cold country.

It's further away from the sun than the rest of the world
There is very little snow. There is drifting snow and ice crystals. According to Nathan Christen Tift who was a meterologist who worked there, it is a very cold desert.
North and south pole
Bees will not survive a cold winter. They also need lots of flowering trees and crops to survive. There are no bees in the polar regions.
All continents and everything else on earth are south of the North Pole. Also, all continents and everything else on earth are north of the South Pole.
That all depends on where you are. If you are on or near the equator it will be hot a sunny. If you are near the north or south pole it will be cold.

All of them. Everywhere on earth is south of the north pole, except the north pole itself.
Apart from the earth, all magnets have a north and south pole.
The "South Pole" (and the North Pole) is the axis about which the earth rotates. The "South Magnetic Pole" has nothing to do with the South Pole other than they are located within the Antarctic Circle. All magnets have a North and South Pole, the "South Magnetic Pole" and the "North Magnetic Pole" are the opposite ends of the earth's magnetic field.
