Why is the brake pedal mushy after changing the disks and pads on GMC Envoy 2003. Pedal sometimes goes to the floor on emergency stop. It was fine before the change?

There may be air in the brake lines and it must be bled out. The other concern is that your brake fluid should be completely changed out on older vehicles. After a few years it may be contaminated as it does have an affinity for moisture which will severely impede brake performance.
