Metabolism takes over after the digestive system is through helping turn your food into you. But carbs break down into simple suger called glucose. Glucose is the energy of the human body. With the aid of insulin glucose enters the cells and provides chemical energy for all the movement of your body. It also provides for alertness, clear thinking, and cell reproduction.

Well I do remember reading in my 'Life Science' textbook last year the roundworm has a 2 way digestive system. I believe it goes through the mouth, into the intestines, absorbed in through the body and out the other way. I know for sure a roundworm has a 2 way digestive system. I just read my homework, lol.
