Dan Aykroyd wrote a script for "Ghostbusters 3" shortly after the second movie. He has been trying to get it filmed for years- but Bill Murray has pulled out of doing it and his character had to be written out as a result. Since it has been over 20 years since a movie in this series has even been made- it is likely the third film could be a reboot instead.
