In ancient times: the library and near Alexandria, on Pharos, the first lighthouse (it was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world).
The Lighthous of Alexandria, sometime called the Pharos lighthouse, which was built in the third Century BC on Pharos Island and was destroyed by an earthquake in the 1300's. Its lighting technique remains a mysterry.
The original lighthouse at Alexandria, the Pharos, was one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Horses could pull wagons to the top of the structure to bring wood for fuel.
Although it has long disappeared it is still considered to be one of 7 wonders of the ancient world.

Some sources say the Lighthouse of Alexandria was built with granite and limestone blocks. In 1994, divers found chunks of limestone underwater that they believed to be from the lighthouse, so most likely it WAS built with limestone. However, no one can be sure.
The Colossus of Rhodes is no longer standing either, nor do the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, well, hang. These are all wonders of the classical world. They are separate from the seven wonders of modern times.
