"The mind" is the "spiritual" part of man whereby our Creator forms us into His Children... the spiritual equivalent of the physical growth of an embryo.
The Bible tells us that God "forms a spirit," in each of us.
"...the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens... and formeth the SPIRIT OF MAN within him." (Zech.12:1)
It's this "spirit in man" working in conjunction with the human brain that forms human "intellect" -- or MIND -- our "self-awareness;" thought, the ability to think, plan, devise, design, dream, hope... that augments our character growth, talents, personality... and facilitate the ability to manifest these spritual entities into physical reality.
It's the human "mind" [man's spirit] that sets man [created in God's image] apart from the animals in the world, whose brains are "pre-programed" to automatically do what they do [like, birds know how to build their nests instinctively].
It's our "minds" that our Creator works with, as mankind goes about pro-creating itself, physically;" the "clay molds" with which God forms the "mind" within [the 'inward man'] into His future Children as they grow and develop, to be "born-again" at the conclusion of God's plan.
God's Holy Spirit unites with the "human spirit" [mind] to form [or conceive] a "spiritual embryo" of a new Child of God:
"The [Holy] Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD..." (Rom.8:16).
That's why "the mind" is so important in the Bible... not to mention "in the world." It's through the "mind" that God works the miracle of rebirth in each of us, to one day populate the universe with His Children... the Family of God.
"...because we know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the Grace that is reaching more and more people may cause Thanksgiving to overflow to the Glory of God.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly [the mind] we are being renewed day by day... So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is ETERNAL." (II Cor.4:14-18 NIV)
It's within the righteous development of "the mind" where "strength of character" and our "personality" is built and reinforced. This isn't just important from a biblical view.... but for each of us from a personal view of what kind of person we each shall be for all Eternity.
For now, all we see with our eyes is dispair, distress and "hopelessness" in the world. But, it's in "the mind" of man where "Hope" [in Jesus Christ] is realized [developed, have Faith and Trust in]... and it's there where Hope can be "renewed, daily."
"...be renewed in the SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND..." (Eph.4:23).
The Bible brings to light the awareness of "the mind" in each of us... as well as instruction on what to do with it -- to develop and grow in the Eternal Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding of the Lord.
"...Fear God and keep His Commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." (Eccle.12:13)

Everyone is important in the bible. If they weren't they probably wouldn't be in the bible.
The bible mentions the 'mind' 95 times in the KJV starting with Genesis 23:8. It appears 120 times in the NIV so the count varies slightly depending on which translation you use.
In the middle ages the people were very religious. The important book was the Bible, but the bible was written in in Latin. So William Tyndale translated the Latin bible to English. This was known as "THE BIBLE IN LATIN vs THE BIBLE IN ENGLISH.
AnswerPresumably you wish to underline words or passages that you wish to be able to come back to and find easily. If you do so, these should be passages that affirm your faith or explain issues that have raised doubt in your mind in the past. Bear in mind that some people believe that the Bible should not be marked, so do so with care.
In the entire Bible the word "mind" is written 156 times, using the New International Version.
God comes to mind . . .
The phrase "mind of Christ" appears only one time in the KJV bible. (1 Corinthians 2:16) "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
The Holy Bible is very important because it renews our mind. When someone is a born-again Christian, they become a member of the Kingdom of God. When we are born again spiritually, our heart is changed by God, but we still need the Holy Bible to help us to keep renewing our minds. It also helps us gain wisdom in what to do or not do, and what to say or not say.
