Best Answer

President Bashar Assad of Syria is hated because he has been extremely ruthless and cruel in his methods of fighting against the revolution currently taking place in Syria. He attacks and kills people indiscriminately, he has bombed hospitals, and he seems to have no respect for human life or for human rights of any kind. There has been a lot of cruelty on both sides of the conflict, but the general consensus is that Assad is a war criminal.
