Cause you bought it for 5 dollars at a rip-off garage sale in the 60s
A laser printer and an inkjet printer differ mainly in how they print, what they print best, and long-term costs: Laser Printer Uses toner powder and a laser to fuse text/images onto paper. Better for sharp text, business documents, and high-volume printing. Usually faster and more cost-efficient per page. Higher upfront cost but lower running cost. Black-and-white models are especially economical. Inkjet Printer Uses liquid ink sprayed through tiny nozzles. Best for color prints, photos, and detailed images. Slower than lasers for heavy print jobs. Lower upfront cost but higher ink cost over time. Good for home use, crafts, and photo printing.
If you want the papers that you print to be higher quality, then I would go with the laser printer. I have an ink jet printer and it's very slow.
printing is slow (CompTIA pg 1179). A portion of the page does not print
It's probably an inkjet printer. Inkjets have a lot of mechanical parts which over time will begin to wear down and get sluggish. Machines are not built to last forever. Without more information from you there is no accurate way to answer this.
When a printer is without memory for whatever reason, the computer has to make its memory available and send the information to the computer in chunks. Chunking the transfer in this way will slow down the operation.
"There are a number of reasons to upgrade an office printer. If your printer is old and slow, there are a number of newer faster printers out there that can increase production if you print in high volume. If you want better quality printing, you could upgrade to a photo quality printer. It all depends on your office's needs. Technology is changing every day and someone will come out with something new that will make your printing jobs easier."
Add memory to the printer.
Change the printer cabling from serial to parallel.
In my opinion, there are no advantages of a daisy wheel printer. I found them noisy, slow, and having to change the wheel to use a different font was a bind.
The speed of an inkjet printer is primarily affected by the print resolution and the complexity of the print job. Higher resolutions require more ink droplets to be placed accurately, which can slow down the printing process. Additionally, the type of media being printed on and the printer's internal processing capabilities also play significant roles in determining overall speed.
The difference between a chain printer and a band printer is a chain printer has a chain that the characters are on and a band printer has a band for the characters.
Printers that form images without physically striking the paper are called non-impact printers. Examples: Inkjet printers – spray tiny droplets of ink onto paper. Laser printers – use a laser and toner to create images. Thermal printers – heat-sensitive paper changes color to form the image.
