Why is the skin considered the main excretory organ?

They act as a filter for your blood to make sure that there are no substances in it that should not be there. As well as substances that have no use for the body (they must be in the bloodstream though)

Ex: alcohol, this is why alcoholics have kidney problems

It is responsible for the elimination of the waste products of metabolism as well as other liquid and gaseous wastes. As most healthy functioning organs produce metabolic and other wastes, the entire organism depends on the function of the system; however, only the organs specifically for the excretion process are considered a part of the excretory system. The excretory system gets rid of waste called urine or "pee".

As it involves several functions that are only superficially related, it is not usually used in more formal classifications of anatomy or function.

Because it plays a major role in fillteration of blood through nephrons ( smallest and functional unit of kidney) and ultimately form the urine by diluting the filter, remains from blood.

I wouldn't call the skin a "main" excretory organ; the kidneys and colon are more important. But sweat or perspiration, from the skin, is a way that the body gets rid of water.
