Before and after I am done urinating in Mediterranean beaches, the water is much saltier than the Atlantic due to the fact that the Mediterranean loses more water to evaporation than it receives from rivers.
It think that salt stays in the water because it gets frozen.
The Red Sea and the Mediterranean are much more salty than the Caribbean. There is a difference of about 5 grams per 1000 more
It is saltier because it has no outlet to the sea.
The Dead Sea is 33.7 % Salinity - The oceans average 3.5% salinity. So the Dead Sea is Roughly 10 times a salty as the Oceans. ----------------- I found another source (wikipedia.org)that states that the Dead Sea is 8.6 times as salty as the sea.
It all depends where you get them from
Saltier water than regular
Great Salt Lake
It is the other way around. The polar seas are the least saline of the worlds oceans, due to low evaporation and heavy freshwater inflow from rivers and streams.
On average, seawater in the world's oceans has a salinity of about 3.5% The salinity of human blood is 0.9%. So sea water is roughly 3.5 times as salty as blood.
yes because more salt is dissolved at the bottom of the sea
Incomplete mixing of fresher and saltier waters. Salt water is denser than fresh, so fresh water can actually float on saltier water for quite a while.
