could be the alternator making the noise. The a/c turned on puts extra strain on the system and the a/c and alternator both are belt driven so the extra strain could be causing the sound and when the engine is going faster the noise will seem to go away. The alternator can make a chirping type of sound sometimes but I'm not sure if is indicating a problem that needs to be checked.
