Best Answer

The amount of Heat that a substance contains is in direct relation to its Kinetic Energy.

Kinetic energy is also called the energy of Motion.

The hotter a substance, the more is its kinetic energy and thusly, the faster is the speed of motion of individual particles (either atoms or molecules) that make up , or comprise, the substance.

Burns occur by the too rapid transfer of this kinetic / heat energy.
