Division of labour means that different tissues and organs of the body take different functions in a multicellular body. For eg. in human body lungs have taken the function of purifying blood, heart has taken the function of pumping the blood, intestines have taken the function of absorbing food and water...
The last answer that was placed here was rude and had nothing to do with the topic.
So what my teacher asked me was "What is meant by the division of labor in an organism. Why is it significant".
Well I don't seem to find it anywhere and I was hoping if someone can help me (:
The answer is : Division of labor means that different tissues and organs of the body take different functions in a multi - cellular body.
-For example: In human body lungs have taken the function of purifying blood, heart has taken the function of pumping blood, intestines have taken the function of absorbing food and water.
It is important/significant because...
Well I don't know the answer to that part....
I need help ):
Multicellular organisms have organs. An organ system is made up of different organs, each organ is assigned a specific role. Each organ is made up of many cells and perfoms a specific function.
For example, in the digestive system the teeth are responsible for chewing food, the stomach is responsible for secreting digestive juices, intestines are responsible for digestion and absorption.
The nervous system is made up of brain, spinal cord, nerves, skin, eyes and ears that are responsible for communication between the different parts of the body and between cells.
Thus, division of labour helps the body to perform complex tasks that are vital in the seamless functioning of the body system.
there is a need for division of labour in living organisms.it is difficult to perform specific function and tasks for this purpose there is a need for division of labour in living organisms
Cell division basically sustains the life of an organism. Through cell division, damaged cells are repaired and dead cells are replaced, which allow the organism to grow and develop.
The division of labor in multicellular organisms is having each cell organ to perform a specific duty. This is what a cell is compared to a manufacturing plant.
The process of cell division by which an organism grows is mitosis.
Mitosis
In multicellular organisms, certain cells specialize in their function and perform that specific function only. This divides the labor between different cell groups. This does not happen in unicellular organism where just one cell performs all the functions.
Because I don't know sorry
An assembly line is an example of Division of Labor.
The assembly line utilized a division of labor approach, with each worker responsible for a specific task in the production process.
division of labour is the breaking down of production activities into stages. This makes work faster and easier it also create employment for individuals thereby encouraging economic progress.

Social class and drudgery date from the division of labor.
Mesopotamians used division of labor. more of that has to be put on
What if there is no division what we can do
As a consequence of these changes, during the 1990s increased division of labor between firms was often accompanied by a reduction in the division of labor within firms.
The division of labor generally leads to specialization in any production line. Furthermore, division of labor increases the efficiency of production and makes the process faster.
