The school bell by Glendon, Alberta, is a monument of the Beacon School which was built on that site in 1913 and closed in 1950. The building was moved to Bonnyville and is presently being utilized as a church. The bell monument was constructed by Beacon Corner resident, Maurice Kostura, and his wife Penny to mark the historic site. The land on which the previous school stood, and where the present monument stands, was originally donated by Maurice's grandfather - John Kostura who immigrated to the area from the Ukraine. There will be a bronze plate located under the bell which will list some of the families that attended the school. If your family attended the school and you wish their names to be included on the plaque contact Maurice at 1-780-645-3299.

The only thing you do in the secret room behind the file cabinet is to recover the missing Bell Clapper for the school's bell tower. Turn on the light (by your feet) and jump for it near the ceiling. Once the seagull is gone, you can fix the school bell. (see related question)
The bell clapper to repair the school bell is hanging near the ceiling. Once the seagull is run off, you can repair the bell with it. (see related question)
