Check the ignition coil or the "pick up" located inside the distributor
The distributor cap is located where the spark plugs cables are connected .They go from the motor to the distributor cap.
No crank sensor. Only has the distributor pick up plate.
Remove the wiring harness from your 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager alternator. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.
Bad coil?
bad coil, bad plugs and/or wires, check and make sure the distributor plug is still plugged in.
I believe that a 54 code is for Turbo only. It may be the synchronization pick up circut. It is not showing a distributor synchronization signal.
A 1992 318 distributor would have an electronic position sensor in it.
disconnect the 3 harness attached and the distributor cap and/or spark plug wires. Remove 3- 12mm bolts. Pull on the distributor. When re-installing reiverse the process. Make sure that the distributor shaftis line up with the notches on the cam. It only fits on way. If in one position dont fit. turn the shat 180 degree. Hope this help!!

1992 Saturns had electronic ignition and did not have distributors.
