Why is this website's name wikianswers?

It is a wiki site where you get answers. A wiki is a site where the users get to edit the content. So people come here to get answers or to edit the content.

On other answers sites, different people give different answers and the asker or other contributors may vote. But here, we use the wiki format and strive for one best answer for each question, even though different people edit the same answers. There are times, such as when Religion is the topic or the question calls for opinions, where there is no one best answer, so different people answer from their own perspective in the same answer.
