Most people would consider tidal power to be a renewable resource. However, some people use the following definitions:
Renewable resources: plants and animals that can replenish themselves after they have been used. Trees can grow again; grass can grow again. Chickens can be born from new eggs.
Non-renewable resources: minerals and fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) that can be dug up and used only once.
Flow resources: water, wind and sunlight are neither renewable nor non-renewable because they can only be used when and where they are. The energy in a river can be used to generate electricity, but it must be captured by turbines or it will be lost.
A:A flow resource is a resource that there is a certain amount of on Earth. Water is not renewable because renewable is a resource that you use up and reproduce. You can not produce water, you just clean it and reuse it. Tidal power is water power so it is not renewable.Tidal power is not used more widely because coal and oil have been easy to find and cheap to burn to produce electricity. Only now are we worried that their cost is actually much higher because of the damage they do to the planet through greenhouse gases and global warming.
Tidal power is not used more widely because tidal barriers are expensive to build, often in remote locations, have high maintenance requirements, and generate relatively small amounts of power. This makes the cost of power very high, and correspondingly the return on investment capital quite low or even negative. In summary, it is promising but needs more development.
There is much work being done on possible ways of exploiting wave action, if not specifically tidal action. Wave action is fairly constant. Tide only goes in and out once or twice a day.
They cost a fair bit to build, they only provide power for a part of the day, and they can only be built in certain places.
I believe it is ALREADY BEING USED as a source of energy.

It is still under research and development.
France has the biggest tidal power plant on the face of the earth, unfortunately the only tidal plant in Europe. Tidal power uses energy in ocean movement (waves) to generate electricity. Tidal power, sometimes called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into electricity or other useful forms of power. Although not yet widely used, tidal power has potential for future electricity generation. Tides are more predictable than wind energy and solar power. Historically, tide mills have been used, both in Europe and on the Atlantic coast of North America.
it is caused by the shocks of an earthquake and the earthquake is caused by the movements of the plates at the bottom of the earth
Tidal power is used in Scotland, U.K., Ireland Tidal power is being used in many places. It would be used in many more places but it costs lots of money to make and install the generators. Also, finding a good place with strong enough surges of tides to actually generate the tides into electrcity or other forms of energy.
A dam used for tidal power is called a barrage. Such dams exist in a number of places: Rance River, in France Bay of Fundy, in Canada Kislaya Guba, in Russia Other barrages are under consideration. See the related link, below, for more information.
The first tidal power station in the world was built in France, at La Rance, in 1966. It has a capacity of 240 MW (MegaWatts). The largest in the world is the 254 MW Sihwa Lake in South Korea (2011)The first in North America is in the Bay of Fundy, Canada (1984, 20 MW)Russia has a small tidal power station on the Barents Sea (2006, 1.6 MW)South Korea has stations to open in 2013 (90MW), 2017 (1320 MW), and three more all more than 100 MW each.Scotland is opening one in Islay in 2013 (10 MW)India begins construction in 2012 on a 50 MW tidal farm in the Gulf of Kutch.

I don't know for certain but I expect wind power is the least widely used (wave power and tidal power are not used commercially at all yet, I believe). A lot depends on your definition of 'widely used'. Do you mean megawatts generated in a given time?
can tidel/wave be used in Britain
The first tidal power station in the world was built on the River Rance, in France, in 1966.

Tidal power is a renewable energy source used to generate heat and electricity for your home. Using tidal power means you cut down on the costs that gasoline and the power company charge.

It is used in Hydro Electric Power Projects for producing Electricity
Tidal energy (or tidal power) can be used wherever there is a large bay or river mouth with a narrow outlet to the sea. This means the tides rush in and out at speed and are able to spin electricity turbines. The are two functioning tidal power plants in the world is in France (Rance) and it is a 240 MW unit and a 254 MW unit called the Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Plant in South Korea.
Tidal waves are not used to generate electricity. A tidal wave is a huge wave, rather like a tsunami, that occurs very infrequently, and without warning.Tides are harnessed to produce electricity, and also waves are used, but not tidal waves.
Currently, the most efficient alternative energy source at around 95% in the case of large hydropower dams, and 90% for smaller ones, tied with tidal power (not widely used).
