Because people keep confusing it with infatuation. Infatuation is the 'warm and fuzzy' part, and it never sustains a relationship. Infatuation lasts anywhere from a few weeks to maybe as long as 2 or 3 years. It's nice, and the warm fuzzy stuff always has its place. But it's not what love is about.
