Because Mercury doesn't have and atmosphere it isn't able to hold on to the heat from the Sun. So at night Mercury gets VERY cold. Venus has a very thick atmosphere and it is able to hold on to its heat.
Mercury:
all the heat escapes because it doesn't have a thick atmosphere
Venus:
has a thick atmosphere and it is able to hold no to the heat unlike mercury
Venus (even hotter than Mercury)
Venus, but is also hotter than Mercury even though it is further away from the sun.
Because Venus Has A Thick Atmosphere Made Of Carbon Dioxide And Mecury Has A Very Thin Atmosphere
Although Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, it is only the second hottest planet after Venus. Venus gets hotter as the thick carbon Dioxide atmosphere holds the heat more effectively, while Mercury has no atmosphere
Venus appears to be incapable of supporting life as we know it because of the fact that even though Venus is the second planet away from the sun, it is still hotter than the first planet, Mercury, because its atmosphere acts like a green house and traps for heat in :making it much hotter than what humans can sustain.
Even though Mercury is closer to the sun than Venus, Venus is hotter because it has a dense atmosphere that traps the suns heat while Mercury does not.
Venus (even hotter than Mercury)
Venus, but is also hotter than Mercury even though it is further away from the sun.
Venus. Even though Mercury is closer to the sun, Venus's atmosphere is full of a gas that traps all the heat in, this gas is called CO2.
The second planet from the Sun is Venus. Also, it is the hottest planet in our solar system. Even though Venus is the second planet from the sun. What makes Venus Hotter than Mercury is, Carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas and traps infrared radiation beneath.
Because Venus Has A Thick Atmosphere Made Of Carbon Dioxide And Mecury Has A Very Thin Atmosphere
it is hottter because venus has the greenhouse affect
Although Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, it is only the second hottest planet after Venus. Venus gets hotter as the thick carbon Dioxide atmosphere holds the heat more effectively, while Mercury has no atmosphere
Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system, because the intense clouds on Venus keep in the heat that Venus receives from the Sun and it's called the "greenhouse gas effect". Venus is much hotter than Mercury, even though Mercury is closer to the Sun than Venus. Mercury has no atmosphere, so there is no "greenhouse gas effect" on that planet.
it is because mercury has not got an atmosphere so all the heat can just go in and out but with Venus it is a bit like the earth it has an atmosphere so all the heat is trapped inside nothing to do with c02
Venus has the highest surface temperature, even hotter than Mercury.
Venus is hotter than Mercury, even if mercury is the closest. It's because of the green house effect which traps the heat inside the planet :)
