Why is very hard to follow buddhas ideas?

The Buddha is pointing out something hard to see: the subtle ways our minds work. One of the things he is pointing out is that some part of us wants us to stay the way we are, and if we understand what the Buddha is saying, we are going to change.

It is not hard to improve your life by following Buddhist principles. Buddha's ideas are contained in the Eightfold Path. These are reasonable things do to to lead a normal and happy life:

1. to understand that the sorrow and pain in your life is normal and caused by unreasonable desires
   
2. to resolve to understand the difference between your wants and desires and reasonable needs
   
3. to ensure that you do not lie, be unkind in your speech, not gossip. These are just good manners and honesty
   
4. not to kill, injure, steal or participate in empty sex. These are just reasonable life skills
   
5. to pursue an honourable livelihood, not participating in unlawful or immortal pursuits. Again a life skill
   
6. to think about what you do and eliminate acts which would harm yourself or others. This is a reasonable approach to all activities.
   
7. to not waste your time in idle speculation. This is an efficient way of life
   
8. to concentrate on being a better person
   

While it takes effort initially to do these things it soon becomes a habit and easy to accomplish
