Most vehicles have one fuse that protects all the gauges so if the fuel gauge is the only one not working, the fuse is probably okay. Most causes for a inop fuel gauge is a faulty fuel gauge sending unit in the fuel tank.
Fuse locations are in the back of the owners handbook, or elsewhere as indicated by the index. Is your gauge inoperative? My 93 Ranger gauge become inop. Turned out to be a brass float had slowly leaked fuel into it. It sank to the bottom and stayed there instead of bobbing on the surface of the fuel. I replaced the whole sending unit in mine.

Is the body of the wiper motor grounded? The motors are usually mounted on rubber and needs a grounding strap to the body of the unit.
On the Chevy S10 the fuel pump is submerged in the fuel tank. If you turn your key to the acessory on position you should be able to hear the pump if you listen by the driver side rear wheel. If you do not hear it then it is inop. The factory original pump will only last around 100,000 miles. Also is your fuel gage starts sticking and getting jumpy, this means the fuel pump/transmitter will fail before much longer.
A/c inop
The main electric fuel pump is located just forward of the left rear wheel under the car. There is also two small electric fuel shutoff solenoid valves located on the carbs. One valve on each carb. Even if the main pump is working, if the carb solenoid valves are inop, no fuel will go to the carbs.

There is a noid light that will check injector pulses from the distributor. It plugs into the injector plug. Most common failure for inop injector is in the distributor module.
