There is not a real reason why your Stevens Savage model 311A was stamped two times in the same spot. It was probably a mistake and it was only suppose to be stamped once. If most of the other stamping looks like that, it was probably something that happened in the factory.

The 311A was not designed to be stamped two times in the spot. if most of the other stamping looks the same it was probably an accident that happened during the manufacturing of a specific batch of guns.

Why is your 311 stamped 2 times in the same spot it all most looks like the 311 the left side look like 3111 and most of the other stamping looks like that?

Stevens Savage model 311A should not have been stamped in teh same spot twice so that it looks like 311 on the left side and 3111 on the other. If the other stampings looks the same, it was probably something that was done during manufacturing. When putting stamps over each other in the same spot it can create something new. When putting a stamp of 311 over each other is can make it look like the stamp is 3111. It can happen with any combination of stamps. If you wanted to create the number 3111 with stamps but can overlap the stamp 311 and there will be an illusion of an extra one if you slightly overlap two stamps of the 311 stamp.

What are the differences between cloisonne pins and other lapel pins?

Cloissone pins are stamped out of a sheet of copper paper. The stamping results in recessed areas that are filled with enamel powder. Then the pin is high fired at 800-900 degrees. After cooling the surface is ground down to a smooth finish. After that the copper is plated. Other types of pins are stamped out of steel, brass, or aluminum.

Some kind of stamping like that was added by someone other than the U.S. mint and adds no real value to the coin. It's only worth as much as someone will pay for it.

based on other answers to gold stamping i believe it would be a makers sign. if it has numbers and a k (i.e 123k) it would be how pure the gold is in carrots. (lol 123 carrot would be nice to have). if gold is a new purchase check with seller as may mean something to store or if it is a manufactured piece could be a company code
