from small crevices and openings form your prop shaft or kleets or any way water might find its way in. once your boat hits water the weight of the hull is transfered to water pressure trying to push up on your boat. The bright side is most Boats are Build with a bilge Pump(at the bottom of the hull) which turns on at a high rate when it senses water. up to 500gal an hr. this is a must have device!!
