Your number lock key isn't on?
I think its somewhere around $100 bucks? But not sure, I know it does have to be coded, programmed to the car once you get it so you can lock/unlock the car with the key.
With your key.
You can if the key has a door lock/unlock button. I lock mine all the time with the remote. If you have the button on the key and it is not working then maybe the battery in the remote is dead? Open it up and replace the battery.
A new key for a ML 270 cost $370AUS
A key, or a Combonation
drill the lock out
The cruise control on a 2002 Mercedes ML320 will stop working if the fuse has blown or the wiring has become loose. An OBDII code reader can be connected to the vehicle's computer to help diagnose the problem.
A key lock works by putting a key in and when you turn the key it pushes a loose round piece which releases the lock.
lock key
If the door latches but doesn't lock, you should be okay driving it but obviously you won't have security when parked. If it is a regular keyhole with key, you could try coating the key with a few drops of WD40 household oil and very gently try to work the lock mechanism side to side. Use great caution and very light pressure so you don't break off the key in the lock or get the key stuck in the lock. If it is an electronically controlled lock, your best bet is to take the vehicle along with the electronic key to a dealer or repairman.
You probably just need to purchase a new keyboard - you can get them for around $10.
