Low oil pressure. Can be a defective oil pump or the oil pressure sending unit is defective. Start by replacing the oil pressure sending unit.
Your oil light comes on when the OIL PRESSURE is too low ( your engine oil LEVEL may be O.K. )
It's oil level or pressure. If level ok, pressure test.
may be the oil sending unit. oil pickup may be clogged.
Dirty Oil Filter or bad oil pump.
If oil level is ok - could be a bad sensor
If the oil light comes on but the oil level is ok, the problem may be a faulty sending unit, as it turned out in my case.
Assuming the oil level is ok but the oil light still comes on: The oil level sending unit or sensor needs to be replaced - not too expensive and relatively easy to replace,
If the oil level is OK, then either the oil pump or the oil sending unit is bad.
because your oil pressure is not right. either replace the oil pressure sensor or the pump.
Engine light has it's own separate gauge, for oil pressure. The oil light will come in emergencies not the check engine light. If you put in correct amount of oil, run engine and check oil level. If it's OK, than light will go out by itself.

The warning light can come on when it is time to change the oil. Your oil pressure and oil level can be at recommended levels when the oil needs to be changed.
