I would say your oil pump is not working. Assuming of course there is oil in your engine. Don't run it until you can have it checked by a mechanic because a blown engine is a lot worse than just replacing the oil pump.
If I were trapped in a room with no light, I would first try to remain calm and assess my surroundings by listening for any sounds or feeling for any objects. Next, I would attempt to locate a source of light or a way to signal for help, such as knocking on the walls or calling out. If those options failed, I would focus on conserving energy and staying mentally alert while waiting for rescue.
The pilot light may not be staying lit due to a dirty or damaged thermocouple, a faulty gas valve, or insufficient gas flow.

When the oil light is on, it means you have low oil pressure. This can be caused by low oil level. When you first start the car, the oil light will come on momentarily, then turn off to signify that proper oil pressure has been reached. An engine knocking usually indicates that the engine is about to stall.
