Great question! I much prefer the nice translucent bottles from the recent past. Hope someone provides a reasonable answer!
Some say it is because they are now using recycled plastic and it is easier (and no doubt cheaper) to colour it than make it translucent.
I dont know but i just made peanut brittle for the third time ever. The first batch turned dark but was perfect taste and consistency. The second batch was perfect all the way around. This third batch turned green and also was a little sticky. I have searched Google but have not got any answers. Good luck.
Moisture in the air or not heating the brittle enough can cause it to be chewy
Carmelization. Partially burning the sugars in the candy make it turn brown.
Because the peanuts it's made from are light brown.
Because I didn't heat it hot enough (300° F.), long enough (boiling for 2-5 minutes).
brown peanut brittle means the sugar has been caramelized, making it burn.
Because peanuts are brown.

If stored properly, peanut brittle can last up to 6 months.
Yes, you could add food coloring to peanut brittle. However, it would be pointless, since peanut brittle is naturally brown, and the food coloring either would not appear at all, or so much would need to be used that it would not produce a pleasing result.
Peanut butter is brown because the main ingredients are brown. Then there's a process called oxidization - same that makes an apple slice turn brown in air - that makes it a bit browner.

Peanut brittle.
It is an amorphous solid. The sugar in peanut brittle is melted and then is cooled too fast for the crystalline structure to properly reform, making it irregular.
It's a peanut spread that's the color and texture of peanut brittle.
