Your menstrual flow isn't just blood...
Your menstrual flow is made up of blood and cells of the uterus lining, mixed with your discharge. You will also see pieces of uterus lining which look like chunks of raw liver, or maybe this is what you're seeing when you see something that looks like jelly. You may also see bloody mucus, the mucus normally plugs-up the cervical opening but some will mix with blood as it passes through the cervix.
the reason why we get blood clots its normal. but its because if your body doesnt get rid of it, it can stop up something in your system and that's not good. so if your body releases chunks of blood its only to help you.
During your period your body will release anticoagulants that keep the blood fluid and thinned. However, if your flow is extremely strong, the blood may pass before the anticoagulants can work. In this case, the blood may clot as it is passed.
Your menstrual flow can look different from day to day and cycle to cycle. The main thing you'll see is blood and discharge, but you may also notice cervical mucus mixed with blood which can look like big blobs of thin jelly-like substance, small blood clots, and larger pieces of uterine lining which look like lumps of raw liver. This is all completely normal.
Your menstrual flow isn't just made-up of blood, it also contains discharge, uterus tissue, and cervical mucus - it's the mucus that makes it stringy and jelly-like. Cervical mucus acts like a plug to prevent dirt and bacteria entering the uterus, during menstruation it is expelled from your vagina along with the menstrual blood.
It's normal; an enzime made makes it thicker.
