Vista has a different procedure in order to control devices such as headphones and speakers. If you disconnected your speakers (headphones) while you listening to music (movie) and connected it again Vista will not resume sound. What you have to do is open Sound control window and connect disconnect the speakers. If vista recognizes it you will see that. You have problems with the sound card then you have check drivers. if it didn't help you have to check the audio card because it can hardware problems.

it's not compatible with vista ultimate 64 , not sure about 32 bit , will not let you apply any patches with a 64 bit operating system.
