Jesus taught people many things, all which tie back to the central themes of spirituality, his Father Jehovah God's kingdom and love. (Matthew 24:4-25) He let his followers know that it was only through means of his sacrifice (which Jehovah had sent him to Earth for) that people would be able to have eternal life in the future. What if Jesus wasn't protecting earth?
Though it was Christ who helped form the earth in the beginning, He is not protecting it. The earth is a separate entity and has a spirit just as we do. When the purpose of the earth is complete it will rest from its labours to become what is known as Celestialized. In other words it will be changed and become a more glorious place than it is now. Jesus didn't come to Protect Earth! He came Teach, Preach, and Heal!
