B/c different parts of the body require different amounts of blood flow. If all vessels were equally sized and big, then blood would hardly more in those in parts of the body that only need a little flow.
If all were equally sized and small, then blood would have to flow at a whopping pressure in parts needing a lot of blood flow.
By having varying sizes the body can have similar pressures in both areas that need a lot of blood as in areas only needing a little.
