Guppies would show a lot of different colours whereas the molly doesn't have as many colours as the guppy. Guppies and mollies however are said to be delicate fish so you must be careful what you put in your tank. Male fighting fish would think the brightly coloured guppy tails are other male fighting fish and would try and fight them. Mollies would tend to nip at fish with long fins. Both mollies and guppies are friendly. They are both active and eat a lot.

I did not say they can't breed because they are egg layers. I said that a female can not get pregnant because they are egg layers. There is a big difference. In order to be pregnant, a female has to have young developing inside her body. This can not happen in an egg layer because the eggs are fertilised by the male after they have left the body of the female fish.

If the fry are small enough to be eaten by the female guppy then she will eat them. If your community tank is well planted and you have plenty of hidey holes that the fry could hide in but the other adult fish can't enter, then the fry would have a better chance of survival out of the breeding/fry tank.
