Because there are not deleted yet but were moved in the new location. If you want to get the space back you have to clean the recycle bin too.

Short note of recycle bin?

Recycle bin is an icon on the Windows desktop that represents a directory where deleted files are temporarily stored. This enables you to retrieve files that you may have accidentally deleted. From time to time, you'll want to purge the recycle bin to free up space on your hard disk. You can also configure Windows so that it doesn't use the recycle bin at all, but then you won't be able to retrieve accidentally deleted files. Items in the Recycle Bin remain there until you decide to permanently delete them from your computer. These items still take up hard disk space and can be undeleted or restored back to their original location. When it fills up, Windows automatically cleans out enough space in the Recycle Bin to accommodate the most recently deleted files and folders.

How is the recycle bin important?

If you're talking about the Recycling Bin in a PC, it's used to delete files to prevent taking up space in your hard drive/ other storage device. If you mean the recycle bin for waste, it's used to hold recyclable objects such as tin cans, glass bottles, cardboard, paper, etc. so that it can be later taken to a recycling center so those items may be reused. Why did deleting the files not make the space on the disk?

In Windows, files are usually not initially "deleted"; they are moved to the Recycle Bin, so that they could be restored later, or, if you choose, permanently delete them. Since they are not deleted, they still occupy space on the hard drive.
