Why kids shouldn't have homework?

This it the question that never gives good or helpful advice. well kids really don't need home work because they are going to do the same thing in school the next day or it might be on a test. if home work was taken away it would be for the better because it would have kids paying more attention in class because if you were goofing off you would get a big fat F on your paper

Kids and everyone else who is in school needs homework so you can live a happy and successful life. Even as McDonalds and gas stations and cheap jobs are now not accepting people who don't have an education. Homework and studying is what makes you smart, no one wants someone who is dumb working for them. That is why we have homework.

Above is correct but i also want to add that too much homework is working too much a day. For Example kids are required to go to school for at least 6 hours so that's 6 hours of work. And then you come home with a average amount of homework and that taks you 1hour and 30 min. that's seven and a half hours of no stop work a day a child from the ages of 5th through 8th grade should not have more than 30min. of homework a night and at school between classes should have small breaks

i am in college now...and this is very simple and easy. kids should not have homeword every night for the following reasons: 1.) Kids who are always doing homework do it to "finish" their work as fast as possible. It becomes a routine to find the answers. Kids stop learning as fast...nor do they want to... 2.) Homework is bull crap if you don't need to practice what you are learning. It should be optional. 3.) homework limits the time that children can do recreational activities.

that is not true. if students do not have homework then what will they learn if they don't pay attention in the classroom while the teacher is teaching the lesson?

Everybody would rather be playing than working - just ask your parents when they're on their way to their jobs! School is your job, so you just have to buckle down and get the work done.

That's a good question and their reasons can vary. Some may not understand that being given homework teaches students responsibility in addition to being an extension of the learning process. Others may believe that all schoolwork should be done at school.
