During the reign of Louis XVI the french society was divided into three estates . The lowest section of the third estate comprised of small peasants , landless labourers and servants. They were uneducated. And taking advantage of their illiteracy's the king imposed heavy taxes on them as they would never understand the injustice and never dare to question the king. AND that's all!
