It's not that one is clearly better than the other. It comes down to one thing: cost of supplies. Depending on the machine and the "coverage density" (i.e. how much "black") of the faxes you expect to be receiving, one may be cheaper to operate than the other. Unfortunately, neither will win in all cases, so you have to do your homework.

It may also come down to personal preference. Modern inkjet fax machines (and printers in general) produce great output (if you're using good cartridges and the machine is kept clean, etc.) with little to no "ink runs" and smudges. But personally, I still prefer laser output for documents (full-color photos are a domain still left to inkjets on the low end, but that's not a concern when it comes to faxes).

What are the advantages of an inkjet printer over a laser printer?

Laser printer use the same scheme of printing that was used in first photocopying machine, this scheme is called electrophotography and was introduced in 1938 and more developed in 1980. Laser printing prints using electrical charges to develop printed images on paper and the dot-matrix uses the scheme of printing dots to create images that is old printing technique. The quality of laser printing is for better than dot-matrix printing scheme. Another benefit of laser printer over dot-matrix printing is that its speed is faster than dot-matrix.

What are some of the differences between inkjet and laser printer cartridges?

Inkjet printer cartridges use liquid ink and are ideal for high-quality photo and color printing, while laser printer cartridges use powdered toner and are better for fast, high-volume text printing. Inkjet cartridges are usually cheaper upfront but may need more frequent replacement, whereas laser cartridges last longer and are more cost-effective over time.

Advantages of inkjet printer?

Inkjet printers are typically less expensive than laser printers. Inkjet printers are also able to print pictures with more realistic color and better blending. Inkjet printers also have the advantage of being able to handle a wide range of media types and thicknesses.

Difference between laser printer and Inkjet printer?

Inkjets normally work on less than 100 watts. Laser printers pull from 400 to 750 watts of power. I've found that laser printers impossible to use when running an ac inverter in my vehicle to power the printer.

A Color Laser Printer is a Smart Investment?

A color laser printer is a smart investment for people who make high quality color copies. The cost of these printers has dropped significantly in recent years. You can purchase one for slightly more than the cost of an inkjet printer. Color laser printers produce better copies and prints faster than an inkjet printer. Although the cost of the toner cartridge is higher than a inkjet cartridge, its more economical because it prints more copies.

Do hp inkjet printers offer better print quality than laser printers?

Print quality is dependent, to a high degree, on paper choice. Inkjet printers offer higher quality prints than laser printers because they use "photo quality" inks and can print on coated paper. Laser jets have improved and offer similar text and graphic quality on plain paper.
