The major factor which seperates LEDC's and MEDC's is money. LEDC'S (Less Economically Developed Countries) have less money, they can't afford to spend on flood defense systems, and also the quality of life is much much poorer, whereas in MEDC's (More Economically Developed Countries) have money, which also means they have more possessions to be destoryed. Due to this they are both always struck badley, however the problems that arise from floods are different. Though these apply to both, in LEDC's it is generally disease which is an issue, whereas in MEDC's it is the lack of housing and the cost of repair.
