USA didn't join coz Wilson was a Democrat and the US Senate were the republicans . The republicans disliked Wilson , they said that there was a belief in the country saying that America wasn't allowed to be involved in active international politics.

The United States did not join the League of Nations primarily due to Wilson's strong will and unwillingness to compromise.

1) First, Wilson, a Democrat, ran the Executive branch of the government, while Congress, of the Legislative branch, had a Republican majority; therefore, to get the League of Nations to pass, and for the US to join, Congress had to pass it (with a 2/3 vote)

2)Wilson alienated many Republicans from voting on the passing of the League of Nations, as he sent a majority of the delegates sent to the Paris Convention following WWI; Therefore, you have these Democrats who in Paris, created this League of Nations, but back at home, you have Republicans who must pass it off in order for it to take effect; when those Republicans were alienated, the chances of it being passed greatly decreased

3)Those strong Republicans who worked to prevent the passing of the League of Nations were labeled as the "irreconcilable", named after their refusal to negotiate into the signing of the League of Natoins. (In reality, Wilson was also very irreconcilable, but on the Democratic side; in other words, both sides were very irreconcilable). The Irreconcilable on the Republican side were led by Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, who was determined to prevent the League of Nations from being passed.

Therefore, in general, the US did not join the League of Nations due to the inability of Democrats and Republicans to compromise.
