It the caralytic converter is clogged you may do serious damage to your engine. At the very least you will get very poor mileage. I would repair this before taking a trip of tha distance. Common sense should apply.

After you do that, then if you want POWER, shop and ask around and install some headers. basically, they are pipes with bigger diameter to allow more air out, therefore more power. That is an explanation in a nutshell now.
