What factors might influence kyleβs decisions to jump
It might be the type of jump that scares him. If the jump is brightly colored or has loose pieces it might scare him. It also might be that you are doing something wrong. Have a friend or riding instructor watch you and the horse jump.
The training center in the Capital? It's explained in the book. When you try to jump, an invisible shield literally pushes you back up into the air.
The first to die was Leeg 2, one of the people in Squad 451, who died from an unlabeled pod. Then there was Boggs, from another mislabeled pod. Mitchel died trying to pull Peeta off of Katniss, but Peeta hurled him into a net of barbed wire. Messalla died in a sort of acidic light. Then Homes, Jackson, and Castor died holding off the lizard mutts. Finnick died (sob) from the lizard mutts as well. Soon afterward, Prim was killed by Gale's bombs. Other deaths: Cinna, Portia, Peeta's prep team, President Snow, President Coin. Total deaths: Leeg 1 Leeg 2 Boggs Mitchel Messalla Momes Jackson Castor Finnick Prim Cinna Portia Peeta's prep team Snow Coin
There are many conflicts in The Hunger Games. The first conflict is her sister, Prim, getting picked for the Games. She tries to solve this conflict by volunteering herself in place of her sister. Obviously, the Games are possibly the greatest conflict in the first book. Katniss is not "comfortable" with killing the others in cold blood, but she isn't sure how long she can keep up just keeping up with defense. There's also the romance factor, she doesn't want to have to kill Peeta. She tries to solve the Peeta conflict by her and Peeta threatening the Gamemakers with the fact that they would commit suicide by eating poisonous berries; and it works. The two are spared the horror of killing each other, and of dying from poison, but then are attacked by "Muttations" of the other players of the games, including Katniss' old friend Rue. Katniss tries to solve this conflict by focusing on the fact that it's just Mutts with the player's color eyes. Of course that's just The Hunger Games. "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" have even more conflicts that rooted in the first book and blossomed into the exciting series.
This might not be too helpful, but grasshoppers can jump about twenty times their own size.
legs
Depends on why it's jumping. It might jump because chain and sprockets are too worn, it might jump because chain tension is too low, or if its a bike with external gears it might jump because the gears aren't adjusted properly.
