I have in idea.
Threats to the Amazon rain forest are mainly those caused by people. They are clearing the rain forest in order to use its resources and make room for human expansion. They are building roads down there along with new towns that are causing the loss of thousands of acres of trees. This activity is leading to global warming and destruction of the environment. Also there is the loss of the mango tree that is really BAD! I love mangos :)

It was the Romans who connected their empire by building roads. Specifically, the Roman army did the work.
No; the technique of building 'hard' roads was invented by the Romans.
Building roads in natural areas can lead to habitat destruction, fragmenting ecosystems and threatening biodiversity as wildlife is displaced. It can also contribute to soil erosion, water pollution, and increased runoff, which can harm local waterways and aquatic life. Additionally, roads can facilitate human encroachment and exploitation of natural resources, leading to further environmental degradation. These impacts can disrupt the ecological balance and diminish the health of ecosystems.
The Roman government paid for the building of the roads through the public treasury. However the maintenance of the roads was the responsibility of the towns that the road passed through. The Roman government paid for the building of the roads through the public treasury.
